Picture
framing is an art form in its own right:
Sometimes
a single complimentary border line in the right place or
colour matching a mount bevel can have a significant effect
on enticing the viewer to look beyond the frame to what
lies within. Finding the right mount colour, the frame
style and the correct combination, is a hallmark of our
initials.

Acid
Free mount board and backing materials:
All
acids burn, and prolonged contact with artwork will cause
irreversible damage. We only use PH neutral (acid free) materials
and adhesives in our studio.
Proportional
dimensions:
Our
mounts are always larger at the base than the top or sides.
This is to compensate for an optical illusion (discovered
by the Romans) when viewing your art. If all sides were the
same, the base will appear to be narrower than the top so
to overcome this, the base of a mount should always be the
larger.
Glass:
We
offer a choice of 2mm ordinary, non-reflective and optical
glass. All picture glass mutes colours substantially but
we are forced to use it for protection. Without glass, colours
are sharper and crisper. Optical glass is state of the art,
coated and without doubt the best possible option for clarity.
